looking for success
Life is to be alive. But life is to be balanced. Life will always be balanced. There may be a short period, or short delay between the large changes and the balance counteracting that change. In the end, it’s all balanced.

I want to discuss one element of life, and how balance is maintained in relation to its presence in our own lives.

A hamster wheel: A round circle which is hollowed in the middle, suspended on a hinge. It turns in place.

Dreaming: A state of mind unto itself. Sorting, shifting, and processing. Dreaming is the only real form of escape.

Wakefulness: Participation, society, and living. This is where we find ourselves trapped in the hamster wheel. The daily grind as it is sometimes referred too. We wake up. We have our routine. We go to work. We come home. We watch TV. We go to sleep. We Dream.

Repeat.

This is life as is experienced by most people. Why the routine? For most it is a concentrated effort in the search for success. What does it mean to be successful? Can you be success? You can have success, or you can be successful. But how is it determined when you have reached that point? And if it is not a point, how can you determine you are in that state of success?

It’s a personal perception. We all have designated signs and conditions that must be present and/or met before we conclude it is success.

Here is the irony.

Most of us live each day of our lives hoping for success. To one degree or another we are putting action toward this goal. The desire being that the mixture of hope and action will produce results we can look upon as success. Thereby we can revel in our success, enjoy the joys that are a result of success, and life will remain motionless in that time we have finally reached the pinnacle of our existence.

Remember, success is a perception.

Experience changes a person’s character. It changes their personality, and effects their wants and desires. The experiences that seem a requirement of success are those that appear to distance the person involved from those same characterizations that allow one to experience joy and happiness in success.

What does that mean?

It would seem that success is a product that once obtained is unable to be enjoyed.

Luckily I have no idea what I’m talking about. This means that you should still strive for success. But look for those things which are hiding along the way. They are the small things that will enable you to reach your final destination of success, and retain who you are so that you may enjoy the product of your efforts.
