whats love? When you see people getting together and then the next thing is to break off or divorce. It makes love seem like, its something cheap and nothing worthy at all?
Despite my previous sentiments (writing) on the subject. I do have a more reasonable approach than that which I’ve previously displayed, though this writing is not meant to counter or nullify my previous thoughts.
Love is often referred to as the most valuable currency this world has to offer. Actually, I’m wrong on a few points.
- People never refer to love as a currency.
- The world doesn’t offer love, people do.
In my analogy, let’s look at love as a currency.
The difference between USD (U.S.A. currency) and love is that humans are built with all the necessary facilities to create love. This same love can then be given or traded as its generator sees fit.
It is wise to remember that when love is traded, it does have a tendency to become tainted.
Love has such a high worth, that in our small grasp of concepts and life as a whole. We humans often lose sight of its true value.
A prime cause of this is selfishness. All the other statistics on divorce may point out one thing or another as to the cause of divorce (money for example).
I have the one statistic that rules them all (much like the ring in Lord of the Rings). That is that the vast majority of divorcees are the result of selfishness.
Love shrivels in the presence of selfishness. Selfishness is like tar to a garden of roses. It envelopes all and totally suffocates.
I suppose I’ve not answered your question as to what love is exactly. And I’m not sure I know. I could probably search for a dictionary definition, but you could too.
If I were to guess, love is the willingness of one person to put other persons before his or her own self. Thus the reason selfishness being a slayer of said love.
So go get your love on, be a giver, not a taker.
