Few things will make a person feel as good as when they feel appreciated.

The economies of Appreciation are like any other economy. The name of the game is supply and demand. If the supply of Appreciation exceeds that of the demand, the value thereof will be reduced.

To apply this to girls dating Jerks.

Jerks tend to be unappreciative of others. They are obviously fully capable of showing appreciation, yet by nature of being a jerk, they choose not to readily serve Appreciation.

Thus the female attraction to the Jerk is born.

The competitive force is strong in the female species. This same competitive energy is what drives girls to pursue Jerks.

The availability of Appreciation is scarce with Jerks. Therefore the final achievement of appreciation from someone who is a jerk is a much more rewarding experience.

This is in contrast to the “nice guy” who girls often describe as being the guy they want. Yet in all actuality, they would never allow themselves to be with.

The nice guy is a nice guy because he appreciates too much. He hands out appreciation like bead necklaces at Mardi Gras. This cheapens the value of each example of Appreciation to the point where his appreciation is looked upon as a tourist trinket. The novelty wears off fairly quickly and in this case usually leads into annoyance; effectively eroding his chance of ever reproducing.

Keep in mind that this is not the say-all-of-all on the subject. There are many aspects to being a jerk that naturally attracts women. I’ve painted a somewhat black and white picture (the jerk vs. the groveling nice guy). You can easily see how being nice will thwart your social life, and inevitably put you at risk of devolution. And we don’t want that, now do we.

Pay yourself a favor. The next time you consider appreciating a girl whom you find attractive, don’t.
