That is a misconception. The world has no end.

I suppose it all depends on how you want to look at “end”. What does end mean? Does it indicate a completion of a stage of being? Or a state of existence? Or is it complete removal from existence?

It also depends on what the word “world” means to you. Is it just the cognitive recognition of yourself?

The world may simply be your existence in earth. If that is the case, than yes, your world will end. And there are three possible exits.

Natural, self, and other.

Natural would be old age heart failure. It’s worn out, it stops working.

Self would be self inflicted death. This could be a result of ones own stupidity and/or accident. Perhaps the conclusion of operating your own plan of expiration.

Other would be any outside influence. Someone else’s decision to cause your death; or maybe you are hit by a drunk driver, and you die. End world.

If you’re referring to our society. And I am assuming you live in a first-world country. Yes, the world will end in this case too. A society will only last as long as they are balanced. Once they become imbalanced, Natures law (I just made that up) will take effect and some balancing event will take place. Depending on what the imbalance is. If its greed than a humbling plague may be presented. If it’s … actually plague pretty much balances out all the possible unbalances the human race is capable of presenting.

Really, think about it. If you are talking about over population – boom! – plague; no food, no water, disease, people dying everywhere. Problem solved; population control. If greed is the issue, remove that which they have to be greedy over and suddenly greed loses its influence.
